What catches your attention?
How has your week been going? I hope you're staying healthy. It seems like everyone in London, myself included, has caught this so-called RSV virus. As a result, I've been feeling quite under the weather these past few days. Although I've tried, my attention span has shrunk to less than 3 seconds, and I found myself getting easily distracted.
Somehow, quite a few marketers got the best of me, and I subscribed to a number of offers which got me thinking, how the f** did they even manage to grab my attention in the first place?
They used hooks, which are clever tactics in marketing. Imagine a hook, like a special idea, phrase, or image that's really interesting or exciting, used by a company when they want to sell something or tell people about their product. This hook acts like a magnet to grab people's attention, making them stop in their tracks and become eager to learn more. Just like a fish drawn to bait, we are drawn to these hooks because they're intriguing and engaging.
Henry knows exactly what he's doing, because of course, I wanted to know what I'm perfect for. I didn't buy Henry's services, but I'm stealing his opening line.
“oops wrong link! 🙈” emails ALWAYS get me. Did you know you can email everyone who didn't open your campaign email? A sneaky marketing tactic people use before big launches to boost their open rates. Natalie Ellis does that a lot, and for a good reason… #Ka-Ching!

What catches your attention? Feel free to take these hooks and apply them to your content. They work like magic, especially if you're targeting someone as easily distracted as I am — the slightly burnt-out Zillennial with the attention span of a fruit fly.
