Journal prompts and manifestation guide

In 2023 I had some of the hardest times navigating personal and professional life. I took a leap of faith by leaving a full-time job to start my own business. My sister got cancer and I became her carer. This meant taking a break from work and starting to freelance when possible – it's been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. In that I had to root out my resilience deeper in my purpose, which brings me to the topic of this blog post: setting a vision for 2024.

I think it’s important to reflect on your year as a whole – especially if it’s ending on a strange note and set a vision for the next. It helps in keeping sight of the bigger picture.

This process/guide to reflecting and manifesting has helped me stay focused, and I think it’s a valuable exercise to do when closing out the year and heading into the next. I’m so grateful to Sharmadean Reid from The Stack World for instilling this as my annual ritual.

Manifestation Guide

DESIRE

In the middle of your page, define your vision. This could be something specific like "In 2024 I am going to make £x," or something broader like "I am going to feel free." You can have one or many visions, but choose to focus on just one thing, such as a single desire.

VISION

Once you have your desire, get very clear on the details. Start to write around your vision. What does it feel like? What do you experience? You need a lot of clarity and detail here. Write as if you already have it. For example, if you're focusing on a promotion at work, describe how it feels: "I have a new office, which helps me with XYZ", "I’m excited to have an assistant", "I feel motivated every day to focus on ABC", "My weeks are full of ABC."

INTENTION

If you don't feel excited by what you've written, it might not be the right goal. Perhaps you're manifesting the wrong thing, or you need to rethink your vision. It should excite you and ignite a desire within you.

IMAGINATION

Begin to write down how you would think and act if you had already achieved your vision. Behave as if you're already there, with future thinking like, "I’m courageous, I mentor others, I’m invited to speak at Z, I’ve just been published in B, I’m now writing a column for Y, my CEO confides in me," etc. Start embodying these attributes from today.

INSPIRED ACTIONS (aka mission)

Aim for 3-5 actionable steps. How will you achieve your vision in a happy, inspired way? Trust your intuition and ensure each action truly inspires you. For example:

  1. I am choosing to start focusing on ABC at work now by initiating my own side project.
  2. I am going to send my CEO my thoughts and ideas monthly.
  3. I am going to begin writing and publishing a newsletter that shows my thoughts (hi 🙋‍♀️).

Support this step by starting a proof journal – write down one positive thing that happened each day. This practice trains your mind to look for the good and maintain positive energy. Avoid phrases like "I must, I should"; instead, use "I have chosen, I’m excited..."

BE IN SERVICE

Create space for joy, hobbies, and happiness. Clear your workspace and disconnect from draining connections to make room for new opportunities. Interact and help others, through small actions like smiling or giving compliments. Add five actionable points related to being in service.

SURRENDER

Let go of worries and deadlines. Allow the universe to unfold naturally. Keep moving forward without too many expectations. Pay attention to what comes your way and practice gratitude for what you have

Over to you

List your answers over the next few days. Hope you find this helpful – report back 😉
